What we collect
From event hosts: Your name, email address, payment information (processed by Stripe), and the details you provide about your event.
From guests submitting messages: The name they choose to leave, the message they record (audio, video, or photo), and basic technical information (timestamp, browser type) for security purposes.
How we use it
We use this information to operate the service: showing the host the messages their guests left, sending email notifications, processing payments, and keeping the platform secure.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted vendors:
- Stripe — payment processing
- Amazon Web Services (SES) — sending email
- The hosting provider for the website itself
We do not sell your data. We do not use your data for advertising.
How long we keep it
Each event has a storage window (varies by event type, typically 180 days to 3 years). After that window expires, the media files are removed unless the host has purchased a storage extension.
Account information is kept while you have an active account. You can request deletion of your account at any time by emailing support@guestbookit.com.
Your rights
You can access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. Email support@guestbookit.com and we'll respond within 7 days.
